Cylindrical roller bearings are available in many designs, series, variants and sizes. The main design differences are the number of rows of rollers and the inner/outer ring flanges and cage design and material.


Bearings are capable of handling the challenges of radially heavy loads and high rotational speeds. Accommodating axial displacement (except for bearings with flanged inner and outer rings), they provide high stiffness, low friction and long service life.


Cylindrical roller bearings are also available in sealed or split designs. In a sealed bearing, the rollers are protected against contamination, water and dust, keeping the lubricant inside and removing contamination. This results in lower friction and longer service life. Split bearings are primarily used in hard-to-reach bearing arrangements, such as crankshafts, where they simplify maintenance and replacement
