Spherical Roller Thrust Bearing
Spherical roller thrust bearings have specially designed raceways and asymmetrical rollers. Bearings can withstand axial loads acting in one direction and radial loads acting simultaneously. The load is transmitted between the raceways through the rollers at an angle to the bearing axis, while the rib guides the rollers.
Features and Benefits
High load capacity
A large number of rollers, with optimal conformity to the raceway of the shaft ring, help the bearing to withstand heavy axial and radial loads.
Misalignment allowed
Spherical roller thrust bearings are self-aligning and tolerate misalignment.
Separate design
Thrust spherical roller bearings are of the split type, allowing their races to be installed and removed independently of the shaft washers and roller and cage assemblies. Furthermore, this facilitates maintenance checks.
high speed capability
The cage design and optimum alignment of the roller and washer raceways make the bearing suitable for relatively high rotational speeds.
long lasting
The special roller shape reduces edge stress at the roller/raceway contact.
low friction
Optimized roller end/rib contacts keep frictional heat at a low level even at high speeds.
application
The following are examples of applications where spherical roller thrust bearings can be used:
Industrial drive
metallurgy
Pulp and Paper
Industrial fan
ship
Mining, Mineral Processing and Cement
